How to split a PDF β in 3 steps
SlimIO's PDF splitter breaks one document into smaller pieces. Everything runs in your browser, so your file stays private and there is nothing to install.
- 1. Add your PDF. Drop in one file, or click to browse.
- 2. Choose a mode. "Each page" makes every page its own PDF; "Extract a range" keeps the pages you name in a single PDF.
- 3. Download. Click Split and save the result straight to your device.
Split vs extract
Split turns a 10-page PDF into ten one-page PDFs β handy when each page is a separate document. Extract (range mode) keeps only the pages you list, such as 1-3, 8, 10-12, inside one PDF. To shrink the result afterward, try the PDF compressor.
When to split a PDF
- Send only what's needed. A form asks for the first page of a certificate, not all twelve β extract just that range.
- Get under an upload limit. A 40-page scan that is too big for one upload slot can go in as two or three smaller PDFs.
- Separate a combined scan. A scanner that saved several documents into one file can be split back into one PDF per page.
Writing page ranges
Separate pages with commas and use a dash for a range: 1-3 takes pages 1, 2 and 3; 1, 4, 7-9 takes pages 1, 4, 7, 8 and 9. The pages keep their original order and quality β they are copied, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable. To drop a few pages and keep the rest, Remove pages is quicker.
